This Zanafi x Hanbel rug was hand-woven by Meriem.
Meriem belongs to a beautiful collective of women artisans just outside of Tazenakht.
Within the collective she's an expert at the Zanafi weaving technique. This style originates from the High Atlas Mountains which is where Meriem was born and raised before moving to be closer to her husband's family.
This indigo rug was made from 100% live wool, which Meriem carded, spun and dyed
The colors were created with natural dyes using spices & plants. The base color comes from indigo stone while the accent symbols come from pomegranate skin, beets, saffron, and alfalfa.
